LEICESTERSHIRE-based communications firm Write the Talk has received £75,000 to support UK job creation with expansion plans into the Hong Kong and USA markets.
The funding was provided by Enterprise Loans East Midlands through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF). This will be used by the firm to expand into new international markets as well as invest in essential marketing materials and take on new staff at its headquarters in the Midlands.
Established in 2006 by Anthony and Sue Madigan, Write the Talk is a communications agency specialising in the creation of long-running narratives for business that stimulate long-term employee engagement, higher brand profile and greater customer loyalty. The firm operates in the UK, Hong Kong and is expanding in the USA, with clients ranging from small businesses to global corporations, each with a unique story to tell.
Anthony Madigan, co-owner and managing director at Write the Talk Group, said:
“Write the Talk began its story in 2006, growing through word of mouth and networking. In 2017 we took advantage of the potential in the Asia Pacific market and today we see that same potential in the US market. Expanding internationally is a challenging endeavour and it takes time to establish and start to grow. This investment will enable us to employ more people here in the UK to meet demand.
“In the current economic climate, it’s hard to find willing investors for small business. We tried the traditional routes and were delighted when our bank introduced us to Enterprise Loans. We found them to be open to our growth plans and very supportive.”
Matthew Wright, business advisor at Enterprise Loans, said:
“I’m delighted that we were able to provide valuable funding for Write the Talk. It’s a well-established business that has been built on networking and referrals so I can’t wait to see how the funding injection and subsequent marketing boosts the company’s success.
“Anthony and Sue are incredibly passionate about what they do and, with a great pipeline of work and a high number of new clients, they are really in a great position to drive the business forward. I wish them every success for the future.”
Grant Peggie, director at the British Business Bank said:
“It’s great to see that through an MEIF investment, this business can accelerate its growth and expand into international markets in the USA and Asia, whilst also strengthening its position right here in the Midlands.”
Kevin Harris, chair of the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership, said:
“Brand awareness and engagement is key for any business to grow in a competitive market. Write the Talk is therefore providing an essential service to its clients, and I’m very pleased that it has secured investment to boost its own growth for the future. Write the Talk is another great example of a business based right here in Leicestershire that is outward-looking and ready to target global markets. I’m very proud that the LLEP has been able to support this grant, as a key partner of the MEIF.”
The MEIF project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.
